Students across the province are getting the “thumbs up” for their participation in the annual Little Green Thumbs and Litter Green Sprouts programs.
Agriculture in the Classroom, a program aimed at fostering an interest in growing food and food security in the young grades, has 376 Little Green Thumbs and Sprouts classes in 120 schools across the province.
Some students have been growing food in their classrooms, while others have been tending to outdoor gardens and greenhouses.
Students will participate in Harvest Celebrations over the coming weeks before the end of the school year.
