The provincial government says planning is on track to have a new school open in Kenmount Terrace in fall 2026.
Last week parents, along with PC MHA Paul Dinn, met with media to voice their concerns over what they say is a lack of progress on the new facility.
In a statement to VOCM News, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said the planning process is proceeding “without interruption.”
Since last fall, departmental engineers have been working with external consultant Vigilant Management, and they expect an RFP for the school’s construction will be issued in the fall.
Government has been speaking with various landowners to purchase the property, and it has been determined that properties will need to be expropriated to address property title issues.
The province says that process is not related to a court action that was filed by a third party.
