The outdoor or open fire ban that has been in place in Labrador for over a month has been lifted.
Government put the ban in place after wildfires raging near Churchill Falls and Labrador City prompted extensive evacuation orders.
Fires on or within 300 metres of forest land are now permitted again, as the fire risk index in the Big Land has dropped to low or moderate.
Residents are still asked to be very careful with open flame, and are also reminded that permits are required to burn brush or any other materials.
A fire ban on the island portion of the province was lifted on July 20th.
