Celebrations one year out to the 2025 Canada Summer Games are on in the capital city beginning this evening.
The festivities begin at St. Pats Ballpark at 6 with music, games, prizes and a community baseball game between the U21 provincial female squad and a team of special guests.
Entertainment will be provided by local groups the Salt Beef Junkies, Port-Aux-Poutines, and KitchinParti.
The official beer of the 2025 games will also be for sale at a beer garden.
The free event will wrap up with fireworks at Quidi Vidi Lake at 10 p.m.

Road closures will be in place on The Boulevard, Lake Avenue, Clancey Drive and Lakeview Avenue from 8:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.
The parking lots on either side of the Quidi Vidi dog park will also be off limits.
A shuttle service from Confederation Building will be running every 20 minutes from 6 until 10 p.m.
The event is free to attend, but non-perishable food donations are being accepted in support of the Community Food Sharing Association.
Celebrations are taking place all week to celebrate the official one year mark countdown to the 2025 Games.
