Residential property taxes in Happy Valley-Goose Bay are holding the line, but business taxes are increasing by one mil after the town tabled its budget for 2025 last evening.
Among the capital works priorities for the coming year are upgrades to the D42 pumphouse and the sewer lift station.
Money has been set aside for reconstruction work on Grenfell Street and Loring Drive as well as traffic lights at the Loring Drive and Hamilton River Road intersection. A new dump truck is also slated to replace aging town equipment.
River bank erosion on the lower part of the Hamilton River is also being addressed in a 3-phase project set to begin in 2025.
