NDP Leader Jim Dinn says the province isn’t doing its part to help tenants deal with the increased cost of rent.
Dinn says he’s been fielding calls from seniors and others who have been grappling with their rent rising in recent months.
Dinn says the issue is exasperated by an increased cost of living, and wages and subsidies not keeping up with inflation.
He says the province needs to look at measures like a rent cap, noting the current system won’t make ends meet.
