The city of Mount Pearl is hosting a public meeting tomorrow in the wake of a series of violent attacks.
A number of young people have been arrested and charged.
Seven young people have been charged in connection with two separate November 22nd attacks on adult men that sent the victims to hospital with serious injuries.
Four of those same teens have been charged in connection with another incident in early November.
Mayor Dave Aker says all has been quiet since the arrests were made, but council felt it was important to bring concerned residents together to discuss their sense of security.
He says it’s not about putting any of those charged on trial, “we have to respect the court system, the justice system” but it’s an opportunity “for people to come out and tell us how they feel.”
The meeting takes place tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at the Reid Community Centre in Mount Pearl.
