A 33-year-old woman was arrested by RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Thursday after they received calls about an unruly passenger on board an Air Borealis flight that had just landed at the airport.

RCMP say the Nain woman, who was reportedly intoxicated, allegedly assaulted a passenger and caused a disturbance on the flight while attempting to gain access to the cockpit.

The woman was arrested without incident and is facing charges of assault and mischief over $5,000.

She is also facing two charges under the Aeronautics Act in relation to the interference of the safety of airline passengers and crew.
