Mother’s Against Drunk Driving has officially launched their annual Project Red Ribbon campaign for 2024.
The effort is centred around the promotion of sober driving all year round, but especially during the holiday season.
People are asked to pick up a red ribbon or other decal, and put it somewhere on their vehicle, clothes, or other places as a pledge to not only abstain from driving while impaired, but also preventing or dissuading others from doing so.

Newfoundland and Labrador chapter president Patricia Hynes-Coates, who lost her son to impaired driving, is imploring people not to get behind the wheel if they have been drinking or doing drugs.
With emotion etched on her voice, she asks that people call 911 if they think someone is impaired. She says people need to plan ahead by having a ride home or a place to stay.
More information about the campaign can be found on MADD Canada’s website.
