A complaint of threats from a home in the east end early Sunday afternoon tied up RNC well into the evening.
Police were called to the home around 2:30 p.m., but dealing with the situation in a timely manner was easier said than done.
Officers contained the home for several hours and were able to resolve the situation without further incident.
A 48-year-old man has been charged with assault, extortion, forcible confinement, criminal harassment, property damage, and breach of release order.
He was taken to the lockup.
