The Town of Lark Harbour is advising residents, and visiting curiosity-seekers that the area around the wharf in Little Port will be restricted to essential workers directly involved in the assessment and salvage of the Baltic III.
The massive cargo ship ran aground in Cedar Cove on the weekend and the ship’s owner has called in a private salvage company to check the hull for leaks and damage before they proceed with attempts to remove the ship from the rocks.
The town understands that the situation is drawing a lot of interest, but workers need to be able to do their work without being impeded.
