Dr. Janet Morrison has been named as Memorial University’s next president and vice-chancellor.
Morrison comes to Memorial after serving as the president and vice-chancellor of Sheridan College in Ontario, a position she’s held since 2018.
Morrison earned a PhD in higher education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and holds a master of arts (history) as well as a bachelor of arts (history) from the University of Western Ontario.
The presidential search committee, struck in 2024, was made up of students, faculty, staff, members of the Board of Regents and the public.
Dr. Morrison takes over in her new role on August 11, 2025.
