The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking more information after a man was stabbed near Memorial University early Sunday morning.
The RNC were initially called to the area following reports of a vehicle-pedestrian collision around 1 a.m.
Officers were approached by a man who said he had been stabbed during a robbery.
Police arrested 27-year-old Rashid Mohamed Amin at the scene. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.
Police believe there were other people involved. They’re looking to speak with any witnesses and obtain video footage from the area of Elizabeth Avenue, Whiteway Street, and Cowperthwaite Court between 12:30 and 1:30 Sunday morning.
