Most people take a break this weekend and enjoy some leisure time, but police officers will be doing just the opposite.
It’s the unofficial start of summer – the first long weekend of the season.
Sgt. Bobby Foreman of RCMP Traffic Services East in Holyrood says they will be out in force watching for things such as aggressive driving, speeding, and distracted and impaired driving.
Sgt. Foreman says their presence on our roadways may not be immediately apparent.
He says they will be in marked cars and unmarked cars watching for those who don’t abide by the rules of the road.
