A Hopedale man has been charged with first-degree murder after another man was found dead in a home in the northern Labrador community on Friday.
RCMP opened the door to find one man dead and another person nearby with serious injuries.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for the community, but the suspect was quickly found.
Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Tuglavina has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing Tuesday morning in Wabush.
But he’s no stranger to the courts there.
Prior to the current charges, he was already on the docket facing 12 counts, including six breaches of court orders, two counts each of resisting or obstructing police and uttering threats, assault and assault causing bodily harm.
Police say the suspect and the victims knew each another.
