A wild situation unfolded in Kelligrews yesterday, ending with a woman and a police officer being bitten by a large pit bull.
RNC spotted a 39-year-old man on their wanted list around 10:00 a.m. As they pulled into the driveway, the man took refuge inside the house. RNC officers heard banging from inside and a person screaming for help. They forced their way inside to rescue the woman, who had sustained serious injuries to her arm from the dog attack. The animal then turned on an officer, who tasered it and locked it in a room.
Paramedics treated both the woman and the officer for dog bites.
The accused eventually emerged from the bathroom and was charged with several offences, including the outstanding warrants against him.
The dog was sedated and turned over to CBS Humane Services
