A post being shared widely on social media suggests that a woman was recently sexually assaulted at Quidi Vidi Lake, but RNC say no such report has been received.
The post, the original source of which is unclear, suggests that a woman was lured and sexually assaulted by a man claiming to have lost his dog.
The RNC says it is aware of the post, and is investigating to determine its validity. In the meantime, patrols have been increased in the area.
RNC encourage anyone who has information to report it directly to police for investigation.
