The Association for New Canadians held a multicultural variety show in St. John’s this morning, showcasing the talent and culture of newcomers to the province
The event also featured a fashion show of traditional clothing.
Director of Language Services with the ANC, Leo Etchegary, says more than 30 countries were represented.
“We don’t want them to forget where they came from, and we want them to celebrate that.” He believes the event allows newcomers to be themselves, and feel accepted and valued.
