Traffic jams were reported at Mary Brown’s restaurants throughout the province last Friday as people lined up for a Batter’s Box feed in support of the Canadian Red Cross and its efforts to help people affected by this summer’s wildfires.
Half of the proceeds from the sale of all Batter’s Box dinners purchased last Friday are being donated to the Canadian Red Cross – to the tune of close to a quarter of a million dollars. ($218,137.41)
That money will now be matched dollar-for-dollar by both the provincial and federal governments, multiplying the amount raised by three.
