Two local moms, Dawn White and Cindy Grimes, both raising autistic toddlers, found themselves searching for a place where their children would not just be accepted, but celebrated.
When they couldn’t find that space, they decided to build it themselves.
The result is Bright Haven, what its founders call the province’s first fully inclusive sensory play and wellness centre.
Co-founder Dawn White says one of their core values is community. They say families want more than just a play-space – they want connection.
“Every child deserves joy, pride and celebration. Instead of asking them to adapt to our world, we wanted to create a world where we adapt to them,” say the co-founders.
The facility has three zones: adventure, calm room and the creative zone with arts and crafts.
Their grand opening is today.
