A man who RCMP call a prolific offender has been arrested once again, and he is facing a laundry list of charges related to several incidents.
Police say 28-year-old Jesse Lewis stopped for gas at a store on Kenmount Road in the wee hours Sunday in a vehicle that was reported stolen from Bay Roberts five days earlier.
When the RNC arrived, Lewis fled the scene, colliding with a taxi and two police cruisers in the process. A very short pursuit was stopped in the interest of public safety.
The next day, around 3:30 p.m., an SUV was reported stolen from a parking lot in Avondale.
Police identified Lewis on surveillance footage, and a critical incident commander was engaged. The ensuing police operation involved multiple divisions of the RCMP, and police dogs from the RNC.
The vehicle was later located in Conception Harbour where RCMP arrested Lewis along with a 27-year-old passenger, identified at Samantha Connors.
