The provincial government is warning of a new scam making the rounds in which fraudsters are calling people claiming to represent the Premier’s Office and asking for banking information.

According to government, the scammers are calling people and asking for people’s personal information so they can receive a senior’s bonus.

The provincial government says it will never request personal banking information in such a way.

If anyone receives such a call, they should hang up immediately without providing any information, and contact police to report the call.
