Finding a long-term parking spot at St. John’s International can be a challenge, but the airport continues with a multi-phase expansion in that regard. However, the authority is running out of room.
COVID aside, traffic at YYT increases pretty much every year, putting more pressure on amenities such as parking.
President and CEO Dennis Hogan says they have added about 270 stalls this year, but if passenger volume continues to increase, they may have to go to the next level – building up. That would mean a parking garage.
“We’re currently doing some feasibility work on whether we should proceed with building a multi-level parking garage. If so, it would sit just outside the terminal building where short-term parking is now,” says Hogan.
