Public health has seen an uptick in people getting their flu vaccine, but it would like to see that number climb higher.
Just before Christmas, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald urged people to get their shot due to the rapid spread of influenza across the country.
Cases have been on the rise in this province: Two people have died this flu season, and there were about 100 cases before the new year.
After they went public with their plea, Fitzgerald says they did see a “slight uptick” in vaccinations, especially for children.
But is was a “very modest” increase, and they would like to see more.
