Canada and China have reached a tariff deal on crab, lobster, canola and peas, and a deal has been struck allowing more Chinese electric vehicles into the Canadian market.
Prime Minister Mark Carney made the trip to Beijing this week to explore an expanded trading partnership with China.
By March 1st, China is expected to lift tariffs on lobster, crab, canola meal and peas for the remainder of the year.
The federal government says that could help unlock nearly $3 billion in export orders.
Canada is expected to increase exports to the massive Chinese market by 50 per cent by 2030.
