A man is dead after a house fire in the small community of Rattling Brook on the Baie Verte Peninsula.
The fire broke out in the overnight hours of Wednesday.
Lin Paddock, the MHA for Baie Verte-Green Bay, credits the King’s Point Volunteer Fire Department for preventing the situation from becoming worse than it was.
He says the fire was well underway when firefighters arrived on the scene but their efforts prevented the blaze from spreading beyond the house of origin and causing further damage.
