The minister of forestry says the province’s fifth water bomber is on track to be back in service for the upcoming fire season.
The water bomber was damaged on a pond on the Burin Peninsula back in 2018.
After nearly seven years on the shelf, the former Liberal government awarded the contract for its repair, at a cost of nearly $15-million, last April.
Pleaman Forsey confirms that the repairs are on track and the bomber is on schedule to be back in the air for this year’s fire season.
