Canadian actor and comedian Catherine O’Hara has passed away at the age of 71.
Reports indicate that the star of Schitt’s Creek and Home Alone passed away suddenly.
O’Hara started her career in sketch comedy and for a generation of Canadians will forever be associated with SCTV alongside comedians like Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas and John Candy.
The Toronto native also made an impression in Holywood, acting in numerous films including After Hours, Beetlejuice, Home Alone and Home Alone 2.
O’Hara also worked with actor, filmmaker and comedian Christopher Guest on a series of mockumentaries including Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.
In recent years she received recognition and acclaim for her role in the television comedy series Schitt’s Creek alongside long-time friend Eugene Levy.
She’s also been recognized with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
