Two of three main elevators at St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s remain out of service after what the health authority calls “a technical issue” knocked them out back in mid-February.
VOCM News inquired about the status of the elevators at St. Clare’s two months ago, and NL Health Services says a contractor is assessing the extent of repairs needed.
In the meantime, patients and visitors are being asked to use the remaining elevator that’s still in operation, or the two service elevators near the main entrance.
NLHS says an elevator replacement program is in place at St. Clare’s and the elevators will be replaced in sequence.
It has not been made clear whether the elevators that are currently out of service will be replaced, or repaired.
