A marathon session in Islamabad on the Middle East failed to produce an agreement between the United States and Iran, but President Donald Trump says it doesn’t matter because the US has already won.
The 21-hour session ended this weekend with no agreement on several key issues including the Strait of Hormuz.
About 20 per cent of the world’s energy supply passes through the strait.
The US and Iran are currently in a two-week ceasefire, but it is unclear as to where things go from here.
The near-total blockage of the strait by Iran has resulted in spiraling prices beyond just oil commodities.
