The Department of Environment and Climate Change has released a flood warning to residents of Happy Valley – Goose Bay and the community of Mud Lake.

Both municipalities are keeping a close eye on the lower Churchill River with water levels expected to rise.

The department also warns of possible hazards, including road washouts and rapidly increasing water levels.

Residents are asked to avoid the affected areas and to take necessary measures to protect property.
