There have been 27 Points of Order raised in the House of Assembly in what has proven to be a raucous spring sitting.
Speaker Paul Lane last week expressed frustration over what he considered to be “trivial” and “childish” such protests in the House of Assembly – only for two more Points of Order to be raised stemming from Question Period.
However, it doesn’t come close to the number of interjections raised in the last sitting of the House of Assembly when MHAs rose more than 60 times to catch the attention of the Speaker.
Those included complaints about unparliamentary language including use of the words disingenuous, cooking the books, jerk, and liar.
Things will be a lot quieter this week. This is a constituency week, which means members won’t be sitting in the Legislature.
