St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen is welcoming the Canadian Country Music Awards to the capital city.
The event is coming to St. John’s in September of 2027 to coincide with Canadian Country Music Week.
It’s the first time the awards will be held in this province and Mayor Breen says he’s looking forward to it.
He says it’s a major event. “It’s probably equivalent to a Brier” in terms of economic benefits to the region. “It’s around $15 to $18 million” says Breen, and will also showcase what the city has to offer to people from across the country and around the world.
