The opposition was surprised to learn that none of the tickets issued for illegally passing school buses in the first half of the school year were sent out.
The information came to light during estimates committee hearings.
Sarah Stoodley raised the matter during Question Period yesterday.
“We do know there was a mail strike, but why did the minister not have contingency plans, like sending tickets via courier for this very serious infraction?”
Minister Mike Goosney says the tickets can only go out through registered mail, and now that the postal strike is over, they will be sent through that means.
