Tenders close this afternoon for one stinky and messy job on the southern Avalon.
St. Mary’s has been years trying to unite all the players to have the yucky contents of the old fish sauce plant trucked away and buried.
The actual job will take several months to complete.
Mayor Steve Ryan says at least eight potential bidders have visited the site. He told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan that it won’t take them long to award the contract.
“It’s great to see a lot of interest. It’s a large tender, about 100 pages or so – and we’re now in the home stretch,” said the mayor.
