Federal finance minister François-Phillippe Champagne today announced $4.5 million in funding for four energy projects in the province.

The minister made the announcement at the Energy NL Oil and Gas Conference in St. John’s.
NL Hydro will receive more than $2.6 million to identify and implement energy-saving measures for communities still served by diesel plants.
Mining company Tacora will receive just over $141,000 to implement an ISO 50001-compliant energy management system at the company’s Scully Mine in Wabush.
Aker Solutions will receive $1.2 million to assess the technical, economic and regulatory feasibility of marine-based carbon dioxide transport and offshore storage.
And Angler Solutions will receive $497,000 to assess the potential for a regional carbon capture and storage hub in the offshore.
