The Canadian Coast Guard (CCGS) rescued a sailor from his vessel yesterday afternoon.

The Big C Atlantic Challenge, which is a small vessel being sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for cancer research, was about 75 miles east of Grates Cove on the northern Avalon when the lone crewmember called the Coast Guard for help .

The CCGS Sacred Bay brought the sailor to Old Perlican.
