Two people were arrested and an imitation handgun was seized as the result of a police operation on Hatcher Street this morning that prompted a shelter-in-place advisory for area residents.

The RNC, supported by the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team executed a warrant on the home this morning.

Schools were notified of the planned operation, and a shelter-in-place was issued for Hatcher Street and a section of University Avenue.

The shelter-in-place was lifted just after noon.

Ten people were removed from the property, two of whom were wanted on outstanding warrants. A search of the home led to the seizure of a small quantity of pills, drug paraphernalia, and an imitation handgun.

The investigation continues.
