The President-elect of the Registered Nurses Union says after 30 years serving on the front lines of health care, she felt the time was right to offer herself for the union’s top position.
Stephanie Winsor, elected to the RNU’s top job on the weekend, will take over in her new role January 1st.
Winsor says after three decades of front-line nursing, she felt now was the time to offer herself up to represent the membership.
“I’m probably in a bit of a unique position, because I have worked almost everywhere on this island,” says Winsor. “I’ve had the opportunity to work in Labrador, in St. John’s, in central, Springdale, Lewisporte, St. Anthony, you name it.”
She says that experience gives her a very good sense of what it’s like to be on the front lines “and it was that passion that brought me to this position.”
