Premier Tony Wakeham calls his attendance at the Calgary Stampede in Alberta another opportunity to share the message that Newfoundland and Labrador “is back in the oil and gas business.”
The premier says he’s met with potential investors and held one-on-one meetings with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe.
He also hosted a joint meeting with officials with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.
“We sat down and I hosted a meeting with all of the major players in the oil industry – not only the ones that are currently in Newfoundland and Labrador, but others that potentially could be looking to come our way.”
