The opposition Liberals are pressing for more information from the PCs on the status of negotiations on the development of Churchill Falls.

Yesterday, Quebec Premier Christine Frechette told reporters that a deal is imminent between the two provinces, while Premier Tony Wakeham says his negotiating team is still working on the file.

Opposition Leader John Hogan says government is not being transparent enough on the file, saying people from this province “shouldn’t have to rely on updates from Quebec to find out what’s happening.”

Hogan says Wakeham is ”hiding behind closed doors” on the deal.
