RNC is investigating an armed robbery at a jewellery store in the east end of St. John’s.

Police rushed to the business on Aberdeen Avenue around 1:30 yesterday afternoon after a woman presented a weapon and demanded an employee hand over jewellery. There were no injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in a dark blue Chevy Trax before officers arrived and could not be located thereafter.

Police are now turning to the public for help in identifying the woman, who they believe to be in her 60s.

She was wearing glasses, a sun hat, beige coat and was walking with a cane.
