A woman is in the lockup after a kerfuffle outside the Avalon Mall last evening.

RNC was called to a disturbance at the shopping centre around 6:45.

The woman believed to be causing trouble became irate once she saw police had arrived and spat in an officer’s face.

The 36-year-old was arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest.
