The premier’s office isn’t confirming that a deal has been reached, only to say “significant progress” has been made in recent days with the government in Quebec, and with Ottawa.
La Presse is reporting that a deal has been reached and will be signed next week.
They say that, as of now, no deal has been signed, and they will let the media know if the situation changes.
The official opposition says that, once again, people in this province are learning about Churchill Falls developments through the Quebec media, rather than through the provincial government.
They are calling for transparency from the Wakeham government.
