A 19-year-old man is facing charges after two women were sprayed with bear spray at a home on Jeffers Drive in Mount Pearl on Sunday.
RNC say the man responsible was known to his two victims and fled the area before police arrived.
The women did not require medical attention.
The 19-year-old suspect was found in the backyard of the home, but tried to run when found by police.
After a brief foot chase, the young man was arrested.
He’s now facing two counts of assault with a weapon, and one charge each of assault, violence against an intimate partner, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breaches.
