A 35-year-old man has been charged after a woman was assaulted in Portugal Cove-St. Philips.
Police received the report early Thursday morning, and found a woman with injuries inside a home in the town.
RNC learned that the suspect had followed the woman home and threatened her with a weapon.
He left, but police say he returned a short time later, and forced his way into the residence.
The man had fled before police arrived.
The accused was located later that day and arrested for break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, assault, criminal harassment and violence against an intimate partner.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance.
