Work to remove the traffic lights at Airport Heights, Portugal Cove Road and Major’s Path gets underway in the overnight hours tonight.

Work gets underway starting at 11:00 this evening and will run through to 7:00 tomorrow morning.

The lights are coming down as the busy intersection changes to a roundabout.

The city says traffic will be able to continue to flow through the intersection, and drivers will have to treat it like a single lane roundabout.

The intersection will remain an active construction zone until the end of the year.

Once complete, the roundabout will accommodate two lanes of traffic.

Meanwhile, paving and grading on Major’s Path forced a detour around the site yesterday.
