The foundation which helps raise money for medical facilities in Trinity, Placentia and Conception bays hopes to raise about a million dollars this weekend to purchase equipment.
It’s the 37th annual Trinity-Conception-Placentia Health Foundation Telethon at St. Francis School in Harbour Grace.
Organizer Don Coombs says they’ll pull it off with the help of several hundred volunteers and generous people who come forward and donate to the cause.
The host venue, the school, is open to anyone who wishes to take in the sights and sounds.
“I encourage people to come in and say ‘hi’, we’ll have entertainment and a group of ladies will be here running a cafeteria, and there will be people coming in and just watching the telethon. Or you can just hook in to Eastlink,” Coombs told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan.
The event runs from 10:00 to 8:00 Sunday.
