The MP for Cape Spear-Mount Pearl – Paradise says he has not been made aware of any Newfoundlanders hurt or injured during a fire at a military base in Alberta over the weekend.

Four soldiers were killed, and 39 were injured – 19 of whom are in critical condition, following a “violent and fast-moving fire” that tore through a training area at CFB Wainwright in Alberta on Saturday.

Tom Osborne describes the situation as “complete sadness.”

Osborne says people will be informed if anyone from this province is affected. He underscores that the situation is having an impact on all Canadians, regardless of what part of the country they live in.
