The provincial government will soon be ready to open the new extension to the Team Gushue Highway.
The final leg of the project, which connects the highway to Commonwealth Avenue and Pitts Memorial, has been under construction for the last several years.
The work is still ongoing, but the road is paved, lines are painted, and the lights are up.
Transportation Minister Barry Petten would not give any definitive dates, only to say that the highway will open “soon.”
He says they are in the process of planning for the highway to open, and expects that something concrete will be announced in the next few weeks.
